Reformer

The Pilates Reformer is a beautiful piece of apparatus that can provide you with feedback to rebalance your body as you move throughout the exercises. I can tailor the session to meet your needs be they rehabilition after injury or illness, or specific conditioning for sports.

The Pilates Reformer can look a little intimidating. It was designed by Joseph Pilates and it looks like a bed that has a moving carriage with resistance springs and ropes and pulleys. But I promise, once you have had one or two sessions, you will be telling other people all about it.

Reformer practice really works your entire body as well as being versatile enough to adapt around your specific injuries or limitations. It really is for all bodies weather you are prone to back pain, or an athlete in training. Because you get to lie down, the Reformer is great for rehab purposes because the spine, hips, knees and ankles are not subjected to the same loads as for standing exercise. This can help to keep you strong and mobile and therefore aid recovery.
For the athletes out there, the Reformer can be used for core stability as well as endurance, joint stability, strength, balance co-ordination etc and these benefits are for everyone, you certainly don’t need to be a dancer/athlete or superhuman in any way.
